We have just returned from the last edition of CIMT 2019, China International Machine Tool Show. The event focused on the topic of integration and mutual benefit in the “smart future” and “smart production”.
Over 1,700 exhibitors from 28 countries attended CIMT 2019, including Italy, always recognized as one of the most important manufacturing countries in Europe. In fact, Italy is the first G7 country that has joined the recent “Belt and Road” initiative. The goal is to share its strengths in the industrial sector with China.
The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, recently reached an agreement with Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China. The purpose is to strengthen the collaboration between Italy and China in industrial production. For this reason, Italy’s presence at CIMT 2019 had the function of actively promoting cooperation between the two countries.
“China and Italy have had relationships of commercial interaction for several decades with mutual benefits” – has said Amedeo Scarpa, director of the ICE Agency in Beijing. “A collaboration that will grow continuously.”
ICE, the Italian Trade Agency that supports the business development of Italian companies abroad. In this way, the Italian Government promotes the attraction of foreign investment in Italy.
In 2018, exports of Made in Italy to China had a value of 340 million euros. China is the third largest market for Italian industry. A constantly growing market. For this reason, we are proud to be part of it.
We are really grateful to our Chinese partner Weast Asia which significantly contributes to the development of this market. We are happy to have participated in CIMT 2019 to meet the needs of the Chinese industry, for the heavy machine tool market and for the growing market of laser machines.
