CIMT 2021: one of the most prestigious exhibition in the world for the machine tool market

Even if we are in a complex period related to COVID-19, we have decided not to give up and thanks to our Chinese Partners we have had the possibility to meet Asian customers during the CIMT 2021 – China International Machine Tool Show, one of the most important in the world for machine tools. The event took place from 12 to 17 April.

However, official statistics show that over 200 thousand visitors participated in CIMT 2021, with a slight decrease -12% compared to the last CIMT 2019 event, mainly due to the travel restrictions from countries like South Korea, Japan, India, South -East Asia and China Taiwan, which in the past represented a significant percentage of visitors.

China third in the world ranking for Italian production

ICE-Agenzia, the Italian Trade & Investment Agency, with the support of UCIMU-Production Systems, have organized the Italian collective participation in the CIMT 2021 machine tool show in Beijing. Some significant data: in 2019, China was the first world producer of machine tools with 17.3 billion euros, third exporter with 3.9 billion euros, first importer with 6.5 billion euros, first world consumer with 19.9 billion euros.

According to the most recent data about the first half of 2020 and processed by UCIMU, China is confirmed in third place in the world ranking of outlet markets for Italian sector production.
